Do Silk Presses cause heat damage?
No. When implemented correctly, silk presses do not cause any damage to one's natural hair texture. By using a number of different techniques, we ensure that no damage is done as a result of our silk press services.
I'm relaxed; am I able to book a Silk Press?
Yes. Although we specialize in natural hair care services, we accept clients with relaxed hair.
I would like to add a treatment to my service, which treatment is best?
The Slay Experience offers a number of treatments including a protein treatment, detoxifying scalp treatment, intense moisturizing treatment, etc. However, the needs of every client differ depending on the current state of their hair. To learn which treatment will best meet your needs, please contact us directly.
Do you offer color services?
The Slay Experience is a chemical free zone and therefore, does not offer color services to clients at this time.
How often should I book a trim?
Trims are recommended every 6-8 weeks to prevent spilt ends, shedding, and other damage.
Where is The Slay Experience located?
We are located in a private studio at 3500 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23223. Further details regarding arrival instructions will be sent after your appointment is booked.
Are the openings listed on the booking site up to date?
Yes! Available dates and times on our booking site are automatically updated as clients book their appointment. If a date/time is not showing up on the booking site, it is not available. When the monthly calendar says "no appointments are available this month", this means that the month is already booked or has not opened yet.
Can I be notified when my desired date and time becomes available?
To be notified if your desired time becomes available, please submit a Waitlist Request Form.
Are appointments available outside of working hours?
Appointments are not available outside of working hours.
Why is my card information required to book an appointment?
In order to secure your Slay Experience, a non-refundable booking fee is required. All booking fees are non-refundable and go towards the full service price.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes. The Slay Experience is currently accepting new clients. All new clients MUST book a service under "First-Time Client Services". This enables me to effectively cater to your hair care needs.
Do you service children?
Yes. The Slay Experience services princess clients ages 5-12.
Due to limited space in the studio, there are no extra guests allowed. This means no children unless being serviced. Only mothers of princesses (12 years or under) are allowed entry.
Listed prices on our booking site are starting prices for services. Please be aware that there is a possibility that the service price may increase depending on your hair type and hair care needs.
Every client is granted a 10 minute grace period. After 10 minutes, an automatic $15 late fee will be applied.
Clients may reschedule their Slay Experience using the same booking fee one time after booking their original appointment. If the client must reschedule a second time, they must submit a new booking fee to secure their appointment.
BOOKING FEE POLICY
A non-refundable booking fee with an additional 3% service charge is required to secure every appointment. All booking fees go towards the client's full service price.
